
After winning Miss Greater Juniata Valley, Katie Carlson will compete against 38 other contestants for a chance to become the next Miss Pennsylvania.

Penn State graduate Ross Ulbricht, known by his online pseudonym "Dread Pirate Roberts," was sentenced to life in prison without parole today in Federal District Court in Manhattan after being convicted earlier this year for running the world's largest drug-trafficking website.

Jong Shim, the student behind the shooting threat posted on Yik Yak, was sentenced to serve five days to 12 months in the Centre County Correctional Facility and one year probation. Shim was held on a $100,000 bail and pled guilty to one count of terroristic threat and one count of disorderly conduct.
After a two month investigation that garnered significant national news interest, Penn State handed down a three year suspension to the Kappa Delta Rho fraternity. Penn State released a statement earlier this evening, which included a letter from Vice President for Student Affairs Damon Sims, announcing the decision.

Of course, my chapter with Penn State will never be fully closed. Perhaps the life that follows is simply an epilogue, an addendum, to these amazing past four years.
