Big Ten Supports “It’s On Us” Campaign for Sexual Assault Prevention

“It’s on us to stop sexual assault.

It’s on us to recognize that non-consensual sex is sexual assault.

It’s on us to identify situations in which sexual assault may occur.

It’s on us to intervene in situations where consent has not or cannot be given.

It’s on us to create an environment in which sexual assault is unacceptable and survivors are supported.”

These five statements are the basis of the White House’s new sexual assault prevention campaign, It’s On Us. The campaign launched last Friday, Sept. 19 with a powerful video including a handful of celebrities.

Now, the Big Ten Conference will help promote the It’s On Us campaign and its efforts to change, think, and talk about sexual assault. The Big Ten is listed as one of the campaign’s 40 notable partners, including other organizations like the NCAA and Pac-12 conference.

If you want to support the Big Ten’s involvement in this campaign, you can take the pledge to help keep women and men safe from sexual assault. If you want to show off your support for the campaign to all of your friends, you can even turn your social media profiles into It’s On Us badges to show your pledged commitment to helping stop sexual assault.
