Wrestling Schedule Headlined By Two Bryce Jordan Center Duals

Two dual meets at the Bryce Jordan Center highlight Penn State wrestling’s regular season schedule, announced today by the program. The Lions will welcome Wisconsin to the near 16,000-seat arena on Dec. 13, and then Ohio State on Feb. 5.

Penn State will host five more dual meets, all in Rec Hall. The Lions have sold out an NCAA-best 26 straight dual matches at home, a streak they should continue when they welcome Lock Haven on Nov. 13. Soon after, their schedule takes them to the west coast, where they’ll wrestle Cal-Bakersfield, Stanford, and then host the Nittany Lion Open.

The match against Wisconsin at the Jordan Center will open Big Ten play before the fall semester closes. After working to win its sixth straight Southern Scuffle, Penn State hits the road before a home match in mid-January against Nebraska. On Feb. 5, Ohio State enters the Jordan Center for the first Friday night dual meet at the Jordan Center since the practice began two years ago.

Two weekends later, one of the nation’s top programs will come to State College for the 2016 NWCA Division I Dual Championship Series. Penn State, along with the top eight Big Ten schools, will be matched with a corresponding top ranked non-Big Ten school. Penn State’s matchup will be on Feb. 21 in Rec Hall.

Some more big venues soon follow: The Lions travel to Iowa’s Carver Hawkeye Arena for the 2016 Big Ten Championships on March 5-6, then the 2016 NCAA Championships, which will be held at Madison Square Garden on March 17-19.
