Tailgate Lot Closures Announced Due To Weather

The past few days seem like they were pages taken from the book of summer. But, this is State College, so three consecutive days of immaculate weather is pushing our luck. The forecast is taking a left turn at the intersection so to speak bringing plenty of chilly air and rain with it in time for Saturday’s showdown against Ohio State. Because of this, Penn State announced the closure of some popular tailgate lots.

The Brown Lot, Family Friendly Lot and Yellow Lot 12 (IM Fields) will all be closed on Saturday due to the incoming weather on the basis of preserving “campus student recreation’s interest in the IM Fields.” Fans who own Brown lot permits will be able to park in the Orange and Blue lots. Penn State is asking fans to enter the Orange lot from Park Avenue and the Blue lot from Route 26 on College Avenue. Yellow lot permits will be honored in the eastern yellow lots near the Stadium by Park Avenue.

If you weren’t able to secure a pre-paid RV pass, you’ll be out of luck. Penn State won’t be able to accommodate any more RVs in those lots.

ADA parking remains unaffected by the closures and will proceed like usual.
