Penn State student Nicholas Papadopoulos has died, according to a Penn State spokesperson.

University officials were notified of his death in his off-campus apartment by State College Police on Sunday, September 13.

At this time, Papadopoulos’ cause of death is unknown and has not been linked to the coronavirus in any way. The coroner hasn’t determined a cause of death but is conducting further investigation and tests.

“We offer our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Nicholas,” Penn State spokeswoman Lisa Powers said in a statement.

Powers added Penn State is currently providing support to Papadopoulos’ family, roommates, and others directly affected by his death.

Papadopoulos, a 20-year-old undergraduate student, studied industrial engineering at Penn State.

Our condolences go out to Papadopoulos’ family and friends during this difficult time.
