Win Prizes at the Library Open House

Wake up bright and early, and you might see President Graham Spanier, hidden somewhere within the stacks of the library.

Or maybe you’ll just win prizes!

The library will be hosting their annual open house today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and again on Wednesday, same time. There will be appearances from both Spanier and the Nittany Lion, so bring your camera to document this historic event.

Even if you can’t capture the elusive creatures, you can still win some pretty cool items. You can try your hand at winning an iPad, all of your textbooks for an entire semester or an HP All-in-One Printer.

Not a lucky person? Guarantee yourself some nifty gear by being one of the first 100 people to stop by all of the Open House stops. Those first 100 will receive a mini-study kit, which includes a 1GB jump drive.

Everyone who even shows up gets a free, newly designed Libraries’ travel mug which will stop you from spilling your water, hot chocolate, or pregaming drink of choice in the stacks (Appletinis and Accounting or  Math and Margaritas, anyone? Not that we promote such outlandish behavior). Go ahead, try to spill with one of those. Actually, don’t. I’d rather not be held accountable.

Celebrate 100 Years of Social Intercourse

100 years ago, before the time of social media, and before Cosmopolitan magazine, there was the Penn State Cosmopolitan Club. Today, students can partake in International Education Week from Nov. 15-19 to bolster up those same feelings from yesteryear. And you don’t even have to pay dues.
