Help Rename the Corner Pocket

Video games: a welcome addition to the Corner Pocket

If someone asked me to meet them at the Corner Pocket,  I probably would have thought they were drunk and headed over to the Corner Room on Allen.

With this logic, I would also end up alone.

Lo and behold, the Corner Pocket is actually a room in the HUB that, until recently, was strictly a billiards hall held near and dear to the hearts of pool sharks everywhere (or at least those on campus).

However, this hole-in-the-wall pool hall now includes much more than billiards. The Corner Pocket has been revamped and transformed into a general gaming lounge with features such as Dance Dance Revolution, Wii, PS3, Xbox 360 and a snooker table.

Although the inside of the Corner Pocket may have gotten a much needed makeover, we all know its what’s on the outside that counts.

So now the pressure is on YOU! The Corner Pocket is looking for a new name and logo and they want Penn State students to come up with it.

Submissions can be sent to the Corner Pocket’s manager, Keith Somers, at [email protected] or dropped off to Erin in 230 HUB until Oct. 15.

In case the sense of accomplishment and legendary status  isn’t enough to entice you, the winner will also receive over $150 in gift certificates to places downtown including Fresh Harvest Kafe, Quiznos, Student Bookstore, Dragon Chasers Emporium and Grillers Cafe.

‘Tis the Season for Graduation

Hopefully, those graduating this semester already know the dates and locations of their commencement ceremonies.

But for the friends and family who want/are forced to watch–or for the future grads who let all the spiced rum and eggnog go to their heads–we’ve put together a short and sweet list of save-the-dates.
