SRCC To Hold 46-Hour Weekend Bake Sale

The Student Red Cross Club is holding a 46-hour Bake Sale this weekend to benefit THON. You’ll be able to satiate your sweet tooth from 6 p.m. on Friday, November 5 nonstop until 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 7 outside Cold Stone Creamery on E. Beaver Ave.

The extra-long, continuous sale is meant to reflect the start and end time of THON, and I have a feeling being situated across from Canyon Pizza for two weekend nights will result in quite the proceeds. SRCC President Rino Santo agrees, saying, “Our previous bake sales have been successful, so I have very high hopes for this prolonged bake sale.” SRCC will also be selling hot chocolate and singing and dancing.

The club will be holding baking socials throughout the weekend so no need to worry about fresh baked goods. And you can even leave suggestions on the event’s Facebook wall if there’s a particular treat you’d like to see. So this weekend buy something-even if it’s just some hot cocoa to warm your hands–FTK.

Kiwi Fro-Yo Comes to Penn State

The Kiwi Yogurt chain is opening its newest store right here in State College, next to the Student Book Store at 324 E. College Ave, this February (no word yet on exact date). Kiwi is a Maine Line, Pa.-based, family-owned company founded in 2008 set on providing “the ultimate dessert experience.”

And it is quite the experience. When you walk in, there is – prepare yourselves – a wall of frozen yogurt options. You get to walk up to this beautiful wall and vend yourself as many flavors as you like.
