UPUA Taking Board of Arbitration Applications

The University Park Undergraduate Association is now taking applications for its Board of Arbitration. The Board serves as the judicial branch of the UPUA. On its website, the UPUA illustrates some of the duties of arbitrators:

The Board of Arbitration oversees matters of dispute between entities and matters of rule and equity within UPUA and student organizational conduct within the UPUA. They have the power to conduct select hearings related to disputed matters within the UPUA, specifically pertaining to election disputes, disciplinary actions, and disputes concerning the interpretation of the Constitution. There are nine members of the Board of Arbitration.

Actually, the Board of Arbitration has had its hands full this semester with the Ragland/Dove Chief of Staff controversy, for example. So if you’re interested in making landmark rulings (perhaps Shaver v. The Pennsylvania State University or McCool v. Common Decency) you have until Friday to complete your application. Stop by 209 HUB to pick it up.
