Second Annual Mr. and Mrs. THON Kicks Off Tonight

Canning trips are coming and going, THONvelopes are being sent out, and THON 2011 is approaching! Fourteen pairs of THON Captains are going to be on the Eisenhower Auditorium stage contending in the second annual Mr. and Mrs. THON pageant tonight.

Whether they are Morale, Special Events, Public Relations, or something else, each pair will put their talents to the test and strut their stuff in their THON gear. Hosting this year’s pageant is Overall Public Relations Chairperson Jony Rommel and Morale Captain Dave Belliveau, also known as last year’s Mr. and Mrs. THON pageant winners. There will be a panel of five surprise judges that will deliberate and pick the top three pairs.

While the judges make their decisions, one of the Four Diamonds Families will share their story and express what THON has done for them. The Overall Committee will perform the 2010 line dance led by the contestants, and audience members can participate.

DJ Larry Moore will be blowin’ speakers up throughout the night. Doors open at 7, contest begins at 7:30, and tickets are only $4 and can be purchased at either Eisenhower or the HUB. If you love THON (which every Penn State student does) or beauty pageants, you won’t want to miss this unique combination. FTK!
