Athletic directors from across the Big Ten announced on Monday their intention to recommend making men's ice hockey an official conference varsity sport. Their recommendation would state that the conference would start sponsoring conference play in the 2013-2014 season. The conference season would include 20 conference games for each of the six Big Ten teams with Division I hockey programs with two games home and away with each opponent. Starting with the inaugural 2014 season, a conference tournament will take place with the winner earning the Big Ten's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
At 7:50, the whispers began. At 7:55, when the crowd started to file in, it was even more stark. And when the debate began at 8:00, and there were only three campaign tickets represented on the dais, it became clear to all who came out to UPUA's first presidential debate: David Adewumi and Sri Pisupati wouldn't be joining them.
Applications are available in 209 HUB from now until March 25 to be a member of the UPUA Board of Arbitration in the Fall semester. Students interested in law or governing student activity should apply.
David Adewumi and his running mate Sri Pisupati decided not to attend the first of the two UPUA Presidential Debates on Monday night held in Alumni Hall. The other three tickets (Bard-Lennartz, Salters-Quinn and Grimes-Wentz) were present for the event.
Adewumi, who ran for the presidency last year, is thought to not be attending because of a meeting he already scheduled for his initiative, ONEPSU, which will be taking place in Thomas Building at 9:00 p.m. He did not inform the UPUA Elections Committee of his absence until right before the debate which is why his spot was left empty as the debate started. Adewumi and Prisupati later released a blog post and tweets explaining their absence.

The top four bands selected by judges were So Long, Pluto in fourth, Atlas Soundtrack in third, The Zak Sobel Band in second, and 5 Cherry Lewis in first.
