Penn State Men’s Volleyball Enters Crucial Stage of Season

The Penn State men’s volleyball team won two matches last week as the team enters the final portion of their regular season schedule. The Nittany Lions next face three crucial conference matches that will determine their seeding in the EIVA Conference Championship. Next weekend, Penn State faces off with Princeton and Rutgers-Newark.

Neil deGrasse Tyson to Speak at Penn State

If you're a science nerd like I am, you've probably heard of Neil deGrasse Tyson. For the unenlightened, Tyson is an internationally known astrophysicist and director of the American Museum of Natural History's Hayden Planetarium in New York City. Tyson is also host of the popular PBS television show NOVA ScienceNOW. A frequent fixture on television on and off of PBS, Dr. Tyson will be coming to Penn State to give the give the 2011 Arthur H. Waynick Memorial Lecture.

TEDxPSU Curator Announced

Following the successes of last October's TEDxPSU event, the executive committee set out to plan next year's event. They took a big step forward when they announced that Zach Zimbler will take over the post as curator for the event. Zimbler is currently a junior double majoring in Supply Chain Management and Information Sciences and Technology and served as the Official Student Liaison for TEDxPSU 2010.

“I’m elated to be working on such a fantastic event for the second year in a row and we’ll be looking to improve upon the event itself and the sustainability of the organization into the future,” said Zimbler in a press release.

The rest of the executive committee will be selected over the next 2 weeks and a general volunteer meeting will take place in mid-April.

Lady Lion Offense Struggles Over Weekend, Home Opener on Thursday

The Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, California marked the Lady Lion's last softball games before their home opener this Thursday. The team's first home game at the new stadium probably can't come soon enough, as they left the "Golden State" with a 2-3 record in the Classic.
