OPP, Spring Cleaning to the Extreme

If you think walking to class in sub-arctic temperatures sucks, imagine having to scour the campus for everything mother nature decided to screw up. That's exactly the job of Penn State's OPP. With 41 inches of total snow accumulation and damages done by ice, the maintenance team has quite a job ahead of them as Spring rolls into Centre County. Relay for Life: Penn State Students Walk for a Cure

Relay for Life at Penn State is an overnight event providing 24 hours of live family entertainment which includes contest, children games, hair cutting and story sharing. Teams bring tents and “party with a purpose,” that purpose being beating cancer. The Relay begins on Friday at 5pm where teams of people camping out take turns taking countless laps celebrating, remembering, and fighting.

40th Graphic Design Follies

On Saturday, April 9th from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in 100 Thomas, the 2011 Graphic Design seniors will be showcasing their multimedia work. This is the 40th annual Follies event where alumni come to connect with the current Penn State Graphic Design Students. Film work is shown and there is a reception after.

Astronaut & Spacey: Hump Day Hip Hop

After announcing that he was "over rap," creator of Hawaiian Super Kush, Kid Cudi, is now claiming that he is also finished with weed. Dropping a nasty track he initially recorded for the Street Fighter game soundtrack, we can only wonder, can Cudder keep doin his thing without the sticky green? Luckily, we have plenty of jams to keep your minds from dwelling on this oxymornic dilemma, including Penn State rapper Chewi, who just released his debut mixtape yesterday.

Softball Team Splits with Illinois

Saturday marked the start of a string of Big Ten Conference games for the softball team, and a new team record. The women traveled to Illinois for games last weekend against the Fighting Illini. They split the series with a victory on Saturday and a loss on Sunday. According to the softball team's twitter account, Jackie Hill's victory on Saturday made her Penn State softball's all time leader in wins. Hill and the team are now in Michigan for their doubleheader today against Michigan State University.
