Cornell professor Dr. Anthony Ingraffea will speak in the HUB auditorium tomorrow night at 7:00 pm to discuss some myths and realities concerning the development of the Marcellus Shale.
Ingraffea is an expert on the subject. His research concentrates on computer simulation and physical testing of complex fracturing processes, according to his bio on Cornell's website, and he has been recognized by a number of industry and academic groups focused on the field.
The event is sponsored by the Sierra Club Moshannon Group and Penn State EcoAction.
Penn State's celebration in Beaver Canyon following President Barack Obama's announcement that Osama bin Laden had been killed by US forces was featured in this week's episode of This American Life, which was unusual for its focus on events that had occurred in the 7 days before it aired.
