State Shades Penn State Football Contest

Wash your home jersey, stock up on cases of Natty Light and make sure the cornhole and ladder golf sets have all their pieces. It’s almost football season and I can already smell the sweet aroma of burgers cooking on the grill at 10 a.m.

To celebrate the upcoming football season, we at OnwardState along with our new friends from Stateshades.com will be running a contest, giving away pairs of sunglasses.

So, tell us:

What is your favorite Penn State Football experience that you’ve ever had? Explain the memories in some detail and tell us why your story should be chosen as the best of the day.

Feel free to enter as many times with as many stories as you can think of, but seniors, we know that after 4 years it’s impossible to remember it all. We’ll post some of our favorite entries as well as the winning submissions. If you’re chosen as a winner, you’ll receive your own pair of State sunglasses to rock at the white out game against Alabama.

The contest will run for 5 consecutive days and winners from each day will be chosen and announced after all the submissions have been reviewed. We look forward to hearing all of your crazy stories and experiences, so start thinking and writing to win you some fly Ray-Ban style State Shades.

Submissions will be accepted from now until next Monday, September 5th, at midnight. Email your submissions to [email protected] for a chance to win.

We can also send along a promo code from Stateshades.com (or check out the Facebook) for future purchases on their website if you aren’t one of the lucky ones to score a pair this week.

Use the Stateshades.com Promo Code ONWARD ST for 10% off any order.

Zak Sobel Band Takes Happy Valley to “Barcelona”

You might know them from their weekly performances at the Darkhorse Tavern, but the Zak Sobel Band isn’t just your average nineties cover band. The group — arguably the most talented opener at Movin’ On — released “Barcelona,” its third album of original songs, earlier this spring. Check out our thoughts after the jump.
