“Brighten Every Journey” Logo Revealed
Four Diamonds Families made the trek to State College this afternoon, joining the THON Overalls, Captains, and Committee Members in the White Building for this year’s Family Carnival, “Medieval Miracles: THON in Shining Armor.” The walls were lined with dragons, unicorns, and the most enchanting creatures of your wildest imagination, as children and students alike ran about wielding swords, crowns, and wands.
“I heard nothing but great things from the families,” said THON Overall Elaine Tanella. “The booths and games targeted children of different ages, so I think they all had a great time.”
At the end of the Carnival, after a number of performances by the Blue Band and a number of other organizations, the logo for THON’s 2012 theme “Brighten Every Journey” was unveiled.
Tanella explained that the Overalls agreed that the logo perfectly embodies this year’s theme. “Everyone remembers the feeling of being out with friends at dusk as a kid. The logo shows how that it is not just THON that brightens the life of the Families, but they brighten ours.”
Now that the FT5K, 100 Days Til THON, and Family Carnival have all passed, the sights have been set on THON Weekend. “All of our meetings are focused on THON Weekend now,” Tanella said. We want to make sure that we not only lay the foundation for THON 2012, but for the years to come.”
