Shame On You, <i>Wall Street Journal</i>

It's shocking and discouraging--if not completely unsurprising, given how this month has gone--to see a major newspaper give a forum to a disgruntled former employee for the voicing of grievances. Vicky Triponey, the former (and disgraced) Vice President for Student Affairs at Penn State, clearly went to the newspaper, selling a story, and in another sad chapter of this affair, The Wall Street Journal bought it.

Penn State Uses Wildcat to Beat Ohio State, 20-14

Wide receiver Curtis Drake headed on to the field like any other play. This was not any other play, however. Drake lined up at quarterback and handed the ball off to Stephfon Green, who ran for a touchdown.

That play was just one of many in a new-look Penn State wildcat formation. Drake and Bill Belton split time at quarterback when the Nittany Lions ran the wildcat. The new formation helped Penn State to a 20-14 victory in Columbus, Ohio, over Ohio State.

Penn State is in Columbus, Ohio, to take on Ohio State today at 3:30 p.m. According to AccuWeather.com, it will be 55 degrees and sunny at game time. Joe Paterno Has Treatable Lung Cancer

I wish that headline above was false. It's not. Scott Paterno has spoke again, this time with the announcement that his father has treatable lung cancer. A source close to Mount Nittany Medical Center confirms that Joe Paterno watched last Saturday's game against Nebraska at the hospital. Doctors are optimistic that he will make a full recovery, but a source close to the hospital describes the tumor as "the size of a fist" and goes on to say that Coach Paterno was splitting up blood during the game with he and his wife both in tears.

David Joyner Introduced as Acting Athletic Director

David Joyner, who was named as the new acting athletic director earlier this week, was introduced to the media this morning during an on-campus press conference. Joyner has served on the Board of Trustees for more than a decade, and he was also an All-American football player and wrestler when he was a student at Penn State.
