Two key pointers if you decide to go — even if they probably sound like your mother’s nag rather than advice — update your resume and wear appropriate attire. The last thing you want to do when meeting with an employer is to hand him or her a copy of your resume to just realize you forgot a key factor or forgot to delete a unimportant one.

As for appropriateness in your “business casual” — don’t take the casual part too seriously. I recall witnessing a girl at one of the fall career days wearing bright pink and green mini skirt, along with a top and fish net stockings. Ladies, unless you plan to do your night shift at a dock-side bar, please keep it simple with a blouse, button down shirt, trousers, khakis, or a skirt that covers the majority of your thighs.

As for seniors, make the most out of these two days and don’t let senioritis get the better of you.

May is closer than you think.
