Stats for Saturday is back with its third installment. This week, I looked at the successes and failures of the game vs. Virginia, and I delved into some scouting stats for Navy.
Penn State has lost one of its own.
Sean Smith, a Penn State World Campus student was killed as part of the attack on the U.S consulate in Libya as reported by the Centre Daily Times this morning.
At 5:30 p.m. today, the Veterans Plaza bearing Lt. Michael Murphy's name will be dedicated between Old Main and the McAllister building. Members from all three divisions of the military are expected to attend the ceremony to unveil the plaza.
There are many different sporting events going on this weekend other than just football. Between a top-15 women's soccer team coming into town, and the women's volleyball team hosting the Penn State Classic, there should be plenty of opportunities to cheer on different teams.
I gave everyone the benefit of the doubt for the first home game. I figured, it's a new era, let everybody learn new traditions together. Some people did, and some people looked like they had never been to a sporting event ever, let alone a Penn State football game.
