One of the newer, and exciting, fundraisers the IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon has to offer is the FT5K. The annual 3.1 mile fun run, which started 12 years ago, has boasted one of the most exciting atmospheres outside of the February THON weekend.
I'm a firm believer that the dorm microwave is an underrated cooking tool. Unfortunately, it tends to be used solely for re-heating sad, lonely, frozen dinners for one. However, when used properly the microwave is a magical device that can be used to make peanut butter fudge and CAKE. Several Penn Staters have been vocal about the NCAA's recent actions, including a former Penn State NCAA representative. On Monday afternoon, Dr. Scott Kretchmar, Penn State's NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative from 2000-2010, guest lectured a communications class before an audience of about 70 students, saying that “Penn State is being used and abused by the NCAA.”
Freshman Mary Krupa loves Penn State squirrels. She is best known for putting various hats on them and documenting it. I spent an afternoon with her and these furry guys and it was....wild.
Yesterday, Governor Tom Corbett nominated Kathleen Casey for a position on the Penn State Board of Trustees. Casey will need to be confirmed by the Pennsylvania State Senate before she assumes that role.
