Rick Perry to Campaign in Happy Valley

Why do former Republican presidential candidates seem to have a liking for Happy Valley?

Less than one month after pizza magnate Herman Cain visited Happy Valley, Texas Governor and former presidential candidate Rick Perry will also spread the conservative message ahead of the November election. On Saturday afternoon, Governor Perry will campaign out of the Central Region Victory Center of the Centre County Republican Party. Tom Smith, the coal entrepreneur and Republican candidate for United States Senate, will join him.

Rick Perry is the longest serving governor in the United States. He has ruled the Lone Star State since he succeeded George W. Bush in 2000. Last year, Rick Perry failed to secure the nomination of the Republican Party for President of the United States, although he was once considered the frontrunner.

During his presidential campaign, we learned that the Aggie alumnus once shot a coyote with a laser-sighted pistol, attends a hunting camp with a racist name, and can serve as an armrest for Mitt Romney.
