Catching Up With Penn Staters in the NFL

The Pittsburgh Steelers signed former Penn State wide receiver Derek Moye to its practice squad on Wednesday. Moye, the former Dolphin and Saint, was brought on due to injuries at receiver. The Steelers play the Kansas City Chiefs Monday night although Moye is not expected to be added to the active roster for this game.

Here is an update on the other Penn Staters in the NFL.

In a 28-7 win over the Jets, Seahawk fullback Michael Robinson did not record any stats. Robinson, a former quarterback at Penn State, is in his seventh year in the NFL. This season the fullback has nine carries for  15 yards and five receptions for 40 yards. On special teams Robinson has contributed five tackles.

Playing in all nine games this year Washington Redskins running back Evan Royster has 45 yards on 12 attempts and one touchdown. Receiving, Royster, who is in his second season, has 13 catches for 79 yards. The Redskins did not play this weekend.

Defensive end Jack Crawford has two tackles on the season for the Oakland Raiders. Crawford, who is in his first season with the Raiders after being drafted in the fifth round, was inactive for the Raiders 55-20 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He has seen time in only two games this season. Teammate Stefen Wisniewski played on the Raiders offensive line.

In a 37-3 loss to the Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jared Odrick had one tackle. Odrick has accounted for 18 tackles for the Miami Dolphins this season. He also has two sacks and one pass defended.

Odrick’s teammate, defensive end Cameron Wake, has notched 29 tackles, 8.5 sacks and one forced fumble on the season. Wake’s 8.5 sacks places him fifth in the league. Wake had  two tackles against the Titans.

Devon Still, defensive tackle for Cincinnati, did not play in a 31-13 win over the New York Giants. It was the first game all season that Still did not see any action. The Bengals rookie has 14 tackles, half a sack, and one forced fumble.

NaVorro Bowman had 13 tackles for the San Francisco 49ers in a 24-24 tie against the Saint Louis Rams. Bowman has 81 tackles, two sacks, and one interception on the year.

New York Jets linebacker Aaron Maybin has one tackle through eight games this season.  Maybin did not play in the a 28-7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Linebacker Paul Posluszny recorded eight tackles Thursday night in a loss to the Indianapolis Colts. The Jaguars linebacker has 70 tackles and one interception. Colts center A.Q. Shipley got his second start of the center against the Jaguars.

Tamba Hali, linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs has 28 tackles, five sacks, and one forced fumble in seven games this season. Hali missed the first game of the season due to suspension. Hali plays Monday night in Pittsburgh.

Linebacker Josh Hull has seven tackles on the season for the Saint Louis Rams. Hull has played in all eight of the Rams game this season.

Buffalo Bills linebacker Bryan Scott had four tackles against the in a losing effort against the Patriots. The Bills lost 37-31. On the year, Scott has 39 tackles, one forced fumble and two interceptions.

Tennessee Titans linebacker Tim Shaw has 14 tackles on the year. Shaw has played in all ten of the Panthers  games.

Robbie Gould was two of three Sunday night for the Bears. Gould connected from 24 and 51 yard. He 48 yard attempted bounced off the upright and was no good. Gould is 18 of 21 kicking field goals this season with a long of 54 yards and is a perfect 26 of 26 on extra points.

Sean Lee (Cowboys), Jordan Norwood (Browns), Levi Brown (Cardinals), and Brett Brackett (Jaguars) have all been placed on Injured Reserve and will not play the rest of the season. Dan Connor (Cowboys) has been inactive due to a neck injury.
