Penn State Volleyball Begins NCAA Tournament Tonight

The top-seeded Nittany Lions will face Binghamton (13-17) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Rec Hall tonight at 7:30 p.m. The first 300 students get in free, and after that tickets will be $6 per match for students. All-session tickets cost $10 per student and can be purchased at the Bryce Jordan Center.

This is Binghamton’s third appearance in the NCAA tournament — all three against Penn State. In the last two meetings between the schools in 2009 and 2005, Penn State has swept the Bearcats in dominating fashion.

Yale and Bowling Green also play at 5:30 p.m. in Rec Hall. The winner of that match will play the winner of the Binghamton-Penn State match at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Penn State has faced Yale three times since 2007 and swept Yale all three times as well. Penn State has never faced Bowling Green, and it is their first appearance in the tournament since 1991.

Hopefully, Penn State will be able to make quick work of a 13-17 Binghamton team and we can all go home and watch the women’s soccer ladies take on Florida State in the Final Four at 8:30 p.m.
