Relay For Life to Host Beach Party Event in the HUB

Grab your swim trunks and your flippy floppies because Relay For Life is throwing a beach party.

This Thursday in the HUB from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., Relay For Life of Penn State will be hosting a skin cancer awareness event with a beach theme. There will be a prize wheel, Relay merchandise, and free giveaways of sunscreen.

In addition, students and faculty can purchase a $5 bag to decorate for the Luminaria ceremony, a Relay tradition across the globe. In addition, Relay has recently partnered with State Shades, and $7 pairs of newly-designed Relay sunglasses will be sold at the event.

Relay For Life is a year-long fundraiser culminating in a 24-hour walk-a-thon held at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on April 13-14. Students and community members are encouraged to create teams and fundraise throughout the year. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society, which in turn go towards cancer research and patient services.
