Penn State Music Awards to be Hosted by Open Mic

Penn State’s Open Mic club will be honoring some of Happy Valley’s best musicians by hosting the Penn State Music Awards on February 28th in Alumni Hall.

Students are encouraged to visit this Google Doc and write in their favorite performers from the past year.

The categories include:

  • Best Male and Female Singers
  • Best Music Video
  • Best D.J.
  • Best Producer
  • Best Male and Female Songwriters
  • Best Male and Female Performers
  • Best Dance Performance
  • Best Dance Group
  • Best Male and Female Poets
  • Best Rapper
  • Best Mixtape
  • Best Band
  • Best Acoustic Performance
  • Best Acapella Performance
  • Best Artist of the Year

The first round of voting will continue through January. The committee will then release the nominees for each category. Artists submitted must be current Penn State students.

Danica Maynard was named to the All-USCHO Third and Rookie Team, while Tessa Janecke is now the first Nittany Lion to be named to the All-USCHO First Team.

Penn State Women’s Hockey Head Coach Jeff Kampersal Named USCHO Coach Of The Year

This marks his second Coach of the Year award this season.
