Happy Valley Vineyard and Winery Grand Opening

Everyone loves an opportunity to slap the bag and guzzle down some luscious wine. I mean, come on, it’s classy.

With Valentine’s Day creeping up, now is the perfect time to give the Franzia a rest and check out the Happy Valley Vineyard and Winery.

Hosting its grand opening on February 14 through February 17, a visit to Happy Valley Winery presents a romantic evening for you and your of-age significant other (or just you) for a chance to taste delicious wine made in our very own Happy Valley.

Only a ten-minute drive from campus, the winery has been claimed by some as one of the nicest vineyards in the state of Pennsylvania. The grapes are carefully grown in the 3-acre vineyard, delicately hand-picked, and then transformed into flavorful reds, whites, and specialty cocktails. I guess the erratic State College weather has its advantages.

Happy Valley Vineyard and Winery has also been known for their sustainability — they go green. By using soft chemicals out in the vineyard and solar generated energy, the winery creates its product without harming the wonderful State College environment.

After taking the wine to their first-ever competition at the 2013 Pennsylvania Farm Show, Happy Valley Vineyard and Winery came back with seven medals for their delectable efforts. Two of their wines, Vidal Blanc and Royal White, brought home gold medals.

The winery will host a wine tasting on Valentine’s Day to release their two newest blends: Prairie Rose Blush and Blue Luna (blueberry-flavored wine). The featured holiday wine — Prairie Rose Blush — is priced at a reasonable $10 per bottle. No need to break the bank on V-Day drinks! Ask for assistance on food pairing or use one of the specialty wines for dessert at home.

Along with the fantastic beverages, there will be wine baskets for sale, which will include wine, two glasses, and chocolate. There will also be a wine basket door prize and a chocolate fountain.

Again, a chocolate fountain.

Happy Valley Vineyard and Winery will also be hosting a number of other events throughout the year after the grand opening, such as an annual Fall Festival.

Come see Happy Valley give Napa Valley a run for its money, located at 576 Foxpointe Drive, State College, PA 16801.
