Mike the Mailman to Appear on CBS Evening News

Everyone’s favorite mailman Mike Herr — affectionately known as “Mike the Mailman” — will be appearing on CBS Evening News which airs at 6:30 p.m.

Mike will appear on a special segment called “On the Road” with Steve Hartman, according to his Facebook page.

It’s certainly been a rough week for mailmen everywhere, as the USPS announced a new 5-day delivery schedule with no mail delivery on Saturday. That decision comes after a $15.9 billion loss last year that has resulted in layoffs, price increases, and a general feeling of a discontent among even the most bullish advocates of the postal service.

But if there’s anyone whose spirit hasn’t been dampened by the USPS struggles, it’s Mike the Mailman. Tune in at 6:30 if you want to have your day brightened, as Mike has done for generations of Penn Staters.
