Penn State Ireland Football Game in the Works
Penn State football in Ireland? Sounds good to me.
Bill O’Brien told Bob Flounders this weekend that a trip to Ireland for the Penn State football team is in the works.
“We are definitely looking into playing in Ireland, no question about it,” O’Brien said. “We’re working on an opponent and we’re working with the Big Ten on that. So that’s something that’s definitely in the works.”
The trip would likely come in lieu of the annual bowl trip that Penn State won’t have the opportunity to participate in. O’Brien said that other attractive travel locations for future games are also being discussed.
“The exotic location — the southern locale — is still something that we’re working on,” O’Brien said.
Between a recently announced home-and-home series against the University of Central Florida in Tampa and this revelation, Penn State’s away schedule just got a lot more appealing.
