It's a frequent goal but rarely successful -- getting something to trend on Twitter. Luckily for Penn State, it's the number one social media school with the biggest philanthropy in the country. And so, at around 6 a.m. this morning, #THON13 was trending in the United States on Twitter.

Popular local band Public Domain took the stage for a middle of the night performance that had everyone in the BJC jamming out to their classic setlist that has won over the hearts of many in the State College bar band circuit.
After nine hours of THONing, spectators have agreed -- Thrift Shop by Mackelmore is the number one song played so far by a nearly 2:1 margin. Coming in close second was Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, followed by Wagon Wheel by Bob Dylan.
