Many have tried and failed to combat the holiday over the years. This year, the anti-State Patty's Day waves are crashing down harder than ever, with fraternities shutting down, bars closing, the police taking draconian measures, and dorms limiting residence hall visitors.
But it's not working. And it won't work until the apartment owners and the landlords take action.
Thanks to the absurd number of downtown vendors capitalizing on this student-initiated drinking holiday, there are oodles of State Patty's Day themed t-shrits to choose from-- some more offensive than others.
Celebrating for the sake of celebrating tends to bring out the worst in people. There are few days that attract assholes quite like SPD, and they will be out in full force. Depending on how much you're going to "celebrate," you may just spot an asshole passing by. Or, you may be one.
