April is Not the Cruelest Month for SPA

The Student Programming Association (SPA) has announced the lineup for the annual Comedy Month coming to Penn State this April. The event is a staple in SPA’s annual programming lineup and usually brings out some top-notch comedians for free shows. The lineup this year is as follows:

  • Jo Koy (Monday, 4/1): A 41 year old Filipino-American stand up comic who has been seen on TruTv, Comedy Central, and on E! with Chelsea Lately.
  • Nick Thune (Thursday, 4/11): This actor/comedian/musician has landed several stand up gigs as well as roles in movies like Knocked UpExtract, and Unaccompanied Minors.
  • Bo Burnham (Saturday, 4/13): He is another comedian who uses music in his humor. He has appeared in Funny People, American Virgin, and Hall Pass.
  • John Cassidy (Thursday, 4/18): This magician is one of the fastest balloon artists in the world. He won several Guinness World Records and is featured on many daytime and nighttime talk shows.
  • Chris Hardwick (Monday, 4/22): Most well known as the host of Talking Dead (a Walking Dead talk show), Chris has appeared in movies like Terminator 3 and House of 1000 Corpses.

This list is definitely not as good as previous years that included Lewis BlackMike Birbiglia, and Donald Glover, but hey, it’s free, and there are still a few solid names on the list. More details will be announced as the week gets closer.
