Relay For Life of Penn State Picks Overalls for 2014

After a record-breaking year for Relay For Life of Penn State, 15 new Overalls were chosen on Thursday night to continue the success next year. Overall Event Chair Courtney Zeuner had the task of picking the new crew with more applicants than ever before.

“I’m just absolutely thrilled about the committee we were able to compile,” said Zeuner. “Everyone is passionate and driven, and I know that together we will take Relay For Life of Penn State to new heights.”

Here’s the list of the positions and their new overalls:

Administrative Overall – Kayley McMahon
Corporate Sponsorship Overall – Kevin Marnatti
Entertainment Overall – Kelly Margevich
Fundraising Overalls – Ally Mischke and Maria Shevchik
Greek Recruitment and Involvement Overall – Grant Kovich
Hospitality Overall – Justin Uy
Logistics Overall – Monica Esopi
Luminaria Overall – Kayla DeVore
Merchandise Overall – Chelsea Howard
Mission Overall – Bethany Beale
Public Relations/Production Overall – Karen Marchuska
Recruitment and Involvement Overall – Amanda Richeal
Survivorship Overall – Jessica Badia
Webmaster Overall – Kevin Christie
There were a few changes to the positions this year, including the addition of a Webmaster and adding Production to Public Relations. In addition, the Spirit committee was removed, and the Recruitment and Involvement and Greek Recruitment and Involvement will have just 1 overall per committee as opposed to 2 like in previous years.
“I’m really excited to continue all the great things we accomplished this year,” said the former On-Campus Promotions Captain, now Public Relations/Production Overall Karen Marchuska. “I want to get even more Penn Staters involved with Relay and follow in the footsteps of the 2013 Overall Committee.”
Relay For Life of Penn State is a 24-hour walk-a-thon at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park benefiting the American Cancer Society. This year, Relay raised $137,602.59, shattering the old fundraising record by over $28,000. Relay For Life of Penn State 2014 will be Penn State’s 10th Relay event. Teams can begin registration in September at psurelay.org.
