UPUA to Sponsor Buses for Away Football Games

Students should find it easier to make it to an away football game this fall, at least if UPUA has anything to say about it.

Your student government will kick off its new program called “The Blue and White Brigade,” which will provide transportation to two away Penn State football games during the 2013 season.

Registration for the Penn State vs. Syracuse game at MetLife Stadium will begin promptly at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 8. Students can register here by entering their name, student ID number, phone number, and e-mail address. Registration is based on a first-come, first-serve basis. UPUA is sponsoring three Fullington buses which will hold 150 students total.

The idea of providing transportation came after president Katelyn Mullen and vice-president Brenden Dooley met with other Big Ten schools that supported the idea. They believe it is important for students to be able to support their teams no matter where they go.

“The Blue & White Brigade program provides a service that the UPUA believes Penn State students deserve,” Dooley said. “It presents students with a responsible and reliable way of reaching away games so that they can  support their school and team.”

The Blue and White Brigade will also sponsor travel for one other game at Ohio State on Oct. 26. Students are responsible for purchasing their own tickets to these games.
