Football Eve Canceled for 2013

One of Penn State Football’s favorite yearly traditions is no more.

Football Eve, the pep rally traditionally held in Beaver Stadium the night before the football team’s first game, has been cancelled this year, sources have confirmed to Onward State.

The season-opening, neutral site game with Syracuse is the main reason behind the decision. It would be difficult for the fans and the team to have the pep rally in State College, and then drive to Metlife Stadium for the 3:30 p.m. kickoff the next day.

It is still unclear if any pep rallies will be planned in New Jersey before the game, other than the usual Alumni Association get-together before the game.

One can (most likely) expect Football Eve to be cancelled next year as well, with the team scheduled to open the season in Dublin, Ireland.
