Halloweekend Guide: Three 21+ Costume Contests

Whether you slaved for hours and hours on the perfect costume or you’re just looking for a little extra spending money, entering a costume contest is never a bad decision. While it is highly probable you’ll see a one of these outfits prancing around downtown this weekend, being unique is the way to go for Halloween. In fact, it could make you about $500 richer. So throw away that Miley Cyrus VMA costume you’ve been dying to twerk in and head to one of these three bars in something a little more original.

Pickle’s “Devil’s Night”

On Thursday night, Pickle’s will host “Most Evil Costume Night” sponsored by Fireball. The contest starts at midnight and $100 will be awarded for the Scariest of Most Evil costume. Happy Hour, from 10 to 12 p.m., features half priced Fireball, Wells and House Chardonnay and Cabernet. Who doesn’t love Fireball?

Kildare’s Halloween Parties

Kildare’s will host “Two Killer” Halloween parties this weekend. The first, on the actual holiday, offers $500 for the best costume. $3 Magic Hat Pints all day, plus Happy Hour (10 p.m. to 12) with half-off food and drink specials. The party continues on Saturday where the best costume will win $500 AND a trip to Las Vegas. $3 Carlsberg pints all day and during happy hour (10 p.m. to 12), there will be $2 drafts and half-off liquor. A free trip to Las Vegas should be enough incentive for anyone to enter.

Indigo’s 5 Nights of Halloween

Indigo has a reputation of throwing one of the best Halloween parties in all of State College. This year, Indigo is hosting “5 Nights of Halloween” extending into Saturday night with up to $1,500 in cash prizes and a series of featured DJs. Sponsored by Bacardi, there will be costume contests every night awarding prizes to those elite in scariest, best group and best overall costumes. Even if you don’t win, you’re promised a good time.
