Distraction of the Day: Devon Still Brings Holiday Cheer

Devon Still is one of the Penn State’s best defensive players in recent history and it turns out he has one of the best hearts as well.

The All-American defensive tackle was the 2011 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and a team captain that helped keep that special 2011 team from imploding. Still was taken in the second round of the NFL draft by the Bengals and signed a $3.7 million contract.

This video of a random act of kindness, posted to his Instagram account yesterday, should make every Penn Stater’s heart swell with pride.

“I was in Michael Kors doing some Xmas shopping (and) I overheard a woman saying how bad she wanted a purse but couldn’t afford it (and) she left..so I decided to buy it (and) walk around the mall until I found her (and) give it to her..it’s Xmas everybody should get (what) they want…the video is terrible I kno lol”

Hometown Brewery Releases Beer Honoring Evan Pugh

Penn State’s first president Evan Pugh was born in 1828 at Jordan Bank Farm, three miles south of the city center of Oxford, Pennsylvania, an hour west of Philadelphia in Chester County. One-hundred eighty-nine years later, an Oxford brewery is honoring one of the preeminent champions of “liberal and practical” higher education in the form of a delicious Porter.
