The Hockey Valley Documentary to Re-Air on Big Ten Network

Don’t miss your chance to gain behind-the-scenes access of the men’s ice hockey team. Hockey Valley: The Opening of Pegula Ice Arena, a documentary that debuted in December, will air again on the Big Ten Network tonight after the 7 p.m. game against Minnesota.

The 60-minute documentary provides exclusive content from inside Pegula Ice Arena, including the team’s first off-ice workout, the coaches’ first skate, and the players’ first time through the arena and locker room. Viewers will also get to watch highlights from the first game at Pegula Arena and a pregame speech from donor Terry Pegula.

Throughout the show, there will also be interviews with head men’s hockey coach Guy Gadowsky, former Associate Athletic Director Joe Battista, and the team.

The preview of the documentary features the voice of the always passionate Battista, the man who made Hockey Valley possible.

“Terry [Pegula] was amazed that we didn’t have hockey at the flagship university in the state,” Battista said in the preview. “Pennsylvania hockey has exploded. It was his vision to make Pennsylvania just like a Michigan, a Minnesota, a Massachusetts, and he felt like the only way that was gonna happen was have the Pennsylvania State University have a program — make it a destination. And it’s gonna be a lot of fun for a lot of people.”
