Coaches vs. Cancer to Hold Annual 5K

The Penn State chapter of Coaches vs. Cancer will host its 15th annual 5K run/walk this Saturday, April 26. Coaches vs. Cancer holds the event each year in order to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society.

The 5K will begin at 9 a.m. at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on the corner of Curtin and Porter. It will follow the usual on campus 5K route, beginning at the corner of Porter and Curtin, going down toward Hastings, up to Pollock and back to Medlar Field.

Registration for the event is open until the end of the day today. The registration fee is $20 and participants can register in the HUB or online.

Coaches vs. Cancer is a national organization wherein the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches collaborate in order give basketball coaches, teams, and the surrounding community the opportunity to make a difference in the fight against cancer. Funds raised through Coaches vs. Cancer events go to the American Cancer Society, and this past year marked more than $2 million raised for the American Cancer Society by Coaches vs. Cancer of Penn State.
