Pair of Arsons Reported In State College Sunday Night

The State College Police reported to two arsons within blocks of one another on Sunday night at 11:03 p.m. and 11:16 p.m., according to a release sent at 2:36 a.m.

The first arson occurred at 712 Windsor Court and involved a large wooden shed that was completely engulfed in flames. The home, a few feet from the shed, was occupied at the time of the blaze, but no one was reportedly hurt. The second fire occurred at 1037 Bayberry Drive across from Orchard Park. This one involved wooden furniture set ablaze on the residence’s front porch. An accelerant was used to start it, and it resulted in damage to the front of the house and furniture. Again, the residence was occupied but no injuries were reported.

The police are requesting anyone with information or who may have witnessed suspicious activity to call them at 814-234-7150. The police are also asking residents of that area to check their property and stay on alert.
