Free Wi-Fi To Become Available At University Park June 26
Free AT&T Wi-Fi will be accessible to most of Penn State’s campus by June 26, thanks to a re-negotiated contract between the university and AT&T.
While Penn State intends for this wi-fi service to only be used by campus visitors, it will surely be taken advantage of by those too lazy to set up their psu wi-fi account. However, the AT&T Wi-Fi will have a limited bandwidth compared to the psu account, so spending a few minutes to set up your psu account, if you haven’t already, is recommended.
The AT&T service will cover most of the campus, but not all of it, like residence halls and other facilities with a different AT&T Wi-Fi arrangement such as the Nittany Lion Inn, The Penn Stater, Beaver Stadium, Pegula Ice Arena, Bryce Jordan Center and University Park Airport. Penn State is actually in the process of installing Wi-Fi in its residence halls as well, which will be completed by the end of the summer (freshmen have it so easy nowadays).
It’s worth noting that the AT&T account will be unsecured, so Penn State advises you take caution when sending or receiving information on it.
