DJ Larry Moore To Be Replaced By Entertainment Committee For THON 2015

For the first time in more than 20 years, DJ Larry Moore will not provide the music for THON. In 2015, the Entertainment Committee will be solely responsible for all pre-THON music and music during THON weekend, according to the THON blog.

“As a committee, Entertainment is excited and prepared to provide all families, volunteers and supporters with the best THON experiences yet,” said Entertainment Director Jake Bramande on the website.

Here’s more, from the THON blog:

DJ Larry Moore and his team have been an integral part of THON for more than 20 years. His dedication, passion and commitment have helped take THON to new heights. Throughout the past several years, the Entertainment Committee has had the privilege of learning alongside Larry Moore to gain DJing knowledge and experience. These years of guidance will prove even more beneficial, as the Entertainment Committee will be solely responsible for DJing all pre-THON events and THON Weekend 2015.

Moore is a Penn State graduate and once danced in THON himself. THON never released information on how much it paid Moore for his services, a point of contention among some anonymous THON volunteers who had reached out to us to complain that the money wasn’t going to the Four Diamonds Fund. Still, Moore was a THON staple for years, and his leaving is one of the biggest changes to the event in recent memory. Moore couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
