James Franklin To Be Featured All Over ESPN on July 30

James Franklin and his fellow Big Ten coaches aren’t just getting national exposure at the Big Ten Media Days, which begin today — Franklin will be given ESPN’s “car wash” treatment on Wednesday, meaning he’ll be featured on many of the network’s shows throughout the day.

According to the Big Ten, Franklin could appear on College Football Live, SportsCenter, First Take, SportsNation, Highly Questionable, Numbers Never Lie and E:60 on television and ESPN Radio’s Mike & Mike in the Morning, SVP & Russillo, The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Sedano & Stink, The Freddie Coleman Show, The Dan LeBatard Show and College GameDay Radio.

If this seems familiar, Bill O’Brien got the same opportunity in 2013 (I’m not positive if this is during his car wash, but he gets made fun of for his butt chin in this ESPN video, so watch it). Usually, no breaking news comes out of this — it’s more of an opportunity for Franklin to sell Penn State. Obviously, he’s done well at that so far, as his first recruiting class is No. 6 in the nation.

Franklin will be joined by Wisconsin’s Gary Andersen, Illinois’ Tim Beckman, Michigan State’s Mark Dantonio, Rutgers’ Kyle Flood, Purdue’s Darrell Hazell, and Minnesota’s Jerry Kill before the remaining B1G coaches join ESPN the following day. With the Big Ten Media Days taking up Monday and Tuesday, expect to see plenty of Franklin quotes throughout the week.
