Record 1,208 Offered Bids After Sorority Recruitment

Panhellenic Council had a record-breaking start to its Fall Formal Recruitment, with 1,740 women registered to participate. After yesterday’s Bid Day that culminated a 10-day recruiting process, a record 1,208 women have been given the opportunity to join the Greek community.

“We are very pleased with the outcome of Formal Recruitment and are ecstatic to welcome so many wonderful new women into the Panhellenic community,” said Vice President for Membership Kimberly Etzin.

If this were any other year, those who were not offered a bid would not be able to immediately join the Greek community. This year, however, these women have another opportunity  the newly recolonized Phi Sigma Sigma chapter at Penn State.

The new chapter will be holding an information session today, Sept. 16, at 8 p.m. in 110 Wartik for all interested women. More information can be found on the chapter’s Facebook page.

Congratulations to all of the newest members of the Panhellenic community! And if you didn’t get a bid, don’t sweat it. Penn State is an amazing place filled with even more amazing people, so you’re bound to find your home somewhere.
