Gameday Coverage: Penn State vs. Northwestern

Good morning Penn State fans!

Penn State is set to face Northwestern in a Homecoming clash. The Nittany Lions come into the game undefeated (4-0) after beating UMass 48-7 last week. Northwestern (1-2) has struggled this year, as it hasn’t beat an FBS team yet. The Wildcats fell to Cal and Northern Illinois to start the year before defeating Western Illinois 24-7.

This will be the Big Ten opener for Northwestern. Penn State won its home opener against Rutgers, but this is James Franklin’s first Big Ten home game.

Below is all of the media information you’ll need for Saturday’s game:

Kickoff: 12 p.m. Eastern time.

Television: Big Ten Network — Eric Collins, J Leman and Tina Cervasio.

Radio: Penn State Sports Network — Steve Jones, Jack Ham, and Loren Crispell. Local: 93.7 FM, and 1450 AM. Sirius: Ch. 84. XM: Ch. 84

Weather: It should be a beautiful day for Penn State football. The high is 75 degrees, and it’ll be around 69 degrees around kickoff. There is a 0% chance of precipitation.

Last Time They Met: In 2012, Northwestern came into Happy Valley during Homecoming week. The undefeated Wildcats lead by 11 at the end of the third quarter, but Penn State scored 22 unanswered points to win 39-28. The game also brought us one of the best Penn State-related gifs of all time:

Injuries: Miles Dieffenbach (knee), Adam Breneman (knee), and Ben Kline (Achilles) are all out for the year for the Nittany Lions.
