Rally in the Valley 2014 Slated For Friday

Stick around in Rec Hall on Friday night after the women’s volleyball team plays Michigan for Rally in the Valley 2014, Penn State’s annual pre-Whiteout pep rally.

Beginning at 9 p.m., students who want to get jacked up for Saturday’s Whiteout against No. 13 Ohio State are encouraged to wear white for the women’s volleyball game at 7 p.m. and the pep rally. The rally will feature performances from the Lionettes, the Blue Band, cheerleaders, and the Nittany Lion. According to the Facebook page, some other special guests will attend, so expect James Franklin to pump up the crowd as well. The event is organized by the Blue & White Society and Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics and funded by the Penn State Alumni Association and UPUA.

Fans are really going to have to rally Penn State up before this weekend’s game, as the Nittany Lions have fallen on tough times. Riding a two-game losing streak, they opened as 11.5-point underdogs to Ohio State, and they now sit 13.5 points in the hole. To make matters worse, Penn State hasn’t downed Ohio State in Beaver Stadium since that legendary game in 2005.
