University Park Ranked Best Campus in Pennsylvania

The accolades keep rolling in: after being ranked the second best college in Pennsylvania, Penn State’s University Park has now been ranked best campus in Pennsylvania, according to Niche’s 2015 list. University Park ranks No. 28 on the national scale.

Niche, one of the most successful online startups in the country, ranked 69 universities in total. Four criteria were used to organize the rankings: campus food, housing, technology, and overall campus quality. The scores for food, housing, and technology all received a letter grade from A+ to D-, substantiated by various government and public data. Comparatively, the overall campus quality score was graded on a scale from 0-5, and current students and alumni alike completed extensive opinion-based surveys to determine the ranking of quality.

University Park scored an A in both food and technology, while housing came in at a steady B. As for overall campus quality, University Park scored a 4.3 out of 5, based on 532 survey respondents.

University Park was not Penn State’s only campus to make the list — five Commonwealth Campuses grace the rankings as well. Berks is the second ranked Penn State campus, appearing at No. 19, with Erie, Harrisburg, Abington, and Altoona following respectively.

The full list of the rankings can be found on Niche, as well as a complete list of Penn State’s personal rankings. You can also find a detailed breakdown of the methodology for ranking the best campuses.
