Annual THON Hoops Game Set for Saturday

After falling 64-58 to No. 16 Maryland on Wednesday, the men’s basketball team is ready for a comeback when it hosts Nebraska at 4 p.m. on Saturday for the ninth annual THON game.

THON Hoops will welcome Four Diamonds families to the Bryce Jordan Center, along with the Family Relations and executive committees.

Student tickets are only $5, with all proceeds going directly to THON. This will be the last THON athletic event before the big dance marathon weekend begins in two weeks, on Feb. 20. For those who can’t attend, the game will be broadcast live on ESPNU.

The game will feature:

  • Before the game (2:15 to 3:15 p.m.), there will be activities including refreshments and a caricature artist.
  • A D.J. Newbill bobble-head giveaway upon entrance (while supplies last).
  • A special halftime ceremony where  THON children and families will be recognized and honored.
  • A post-game carnival with Penn State athletes

After the carnival, you can make the quick trip to the Pegula Ice Area for THON Skate from 7 to 10 p.m. There will be a $5 entrance fee and a $2 skate rental.

Come cheer on the Nittany Lions as they fight For The Kids this Saturday. And to really get you in the THON Hoops spirit, check out the the team’s pep rally dance from last year:
