The HUB Expansion In Photos
The long-awaited expansion of the HUB opened to great fanfare Monday. From the monumental staircase, to the tech lounge and everything in between, students took advantage of the features of the new section almost immediately after its opening.
If you haven’t been able to visit the expansion or missed all it has to offer, we’ve compiled a photo tour of the new HUB for you to enjoy.
The focal point of the expansion is the monumental staircase which features room for students to sit and converse, complete their homework, or simply relax. Bands will be able to perform on an extending landing for events like SPA’s Noontime concert series.
The new bookstore features a Starbucks and more room for all of your Penn State needs.
The new tech lounge offers more seating behind the monumental staircase and interactive device portals for students to utilize for group work, or to just charge up their devices.
The expansion features seating galore, with high top tables located in the common area, and numerous other seats located around its edges on the second and third floors.
The expansion is home to a multitude of new meeting rooms, complete with views of the building’s common area and Mount Nittany.
The Lion FM moved into its new space on the first floor of the expansion, complete with a studio visible to passerby’s.
Penn State’s seal was added to the floor adjacent to the staircase. If only students would make it a habit to not walk on it like at Michigan…
Alas! The Green Roof Terrace is not complete yet since it’s still winter, but students will be able to hang out on the terrace come spring.
