Slate of Penn State Coaches To Join Franklin On Coaches Caravan

James Franklin will be joined by some special guests as he embarks on the fourth Penn State Coaches Caravan tour this spring beginning May 5. Basketball coach Pat Chambers, hockey’s Guy Gadowsky, Athletics Director Sandy Barbour, and womens volleyball’s Russ Rose, among other Penn State coaches, will accompany Franklin at select stops.

There are 12 total stops on the tour, eight of which are in Pennsylvania, the others in nearby alumni hotspots including Baltimore, New York City, Washington D.C., and New Jersey.

Registration for the Caravan begins Monday, March 30 and the event concludes in Wilkes-Barre on May 21. Franklin and Barbour are scheduled to appear at all 12 stops. Franklin and at least two other head coaches at each locale will provide brief messages to the Penn State fan base, and answer questions from those in attendance.

Franklin, Gadowsky, and women’s golf coach St. Pierre will ride in the Caravan’s customized coach and immediately travel to Harrisburg and Lancaster to kick off the events. Then it’s off to Washington D.C. and Baltimore the next day, and Altoona and Pittsburgh the following.

After a few days off, Franklin will enjoy the company of Chambers, wrestling coach Sael Sanderson, and Rose to travel to the Philadelphia region, including Langhorne, Franklin’s hometown.
