Lion Ambassadors To Host Old Main Open House
UPDATE: With rain in the forecast, the Old Main Open House has been postponed to a date to be determined.
Old Main is one of the most iconic buildings at Penn State, not only for its architecture, but also for its history. Well, for you history nuts out there, your chance to tour the building and climb the bell tower will come later this week.
The Lion Ambassadors will give tours of Old Main this Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to show visitors the building as part of an open house. They will utilize special guests, like past presidents and other characters from Penn State history, to help visitors learn Penn State history.
The guides will also explain what Old Main, and its offices, are used for today. There will be food, events, and activities to help gain a greater appreciation for Dear Old State.
Along with the tour of the inside of Old Main, visitors will be able to look out over Happy Valley from the top of the building. You might even get to hear Westminster Quarters up close and personal, though the familiar tune will come from a speaker and not an actual bell.
Make sure to stop by Old Main for Wednesday’s open house, your best chance to hit triple digit likes on an #OldMainInstagram.
